Cake Business Judging

Judges will judge the businesses on a wide range of criteria from marketing, to finances and customer service.

Judging Process

This is the one category where the judges will need to know which business they are judging. The judging is criteria based (not subjective) so it will be fair. If a judge has a personal or business connection with the business they will recuse themselves from judging.

Confidentiality

Each of the judges has signed a confidentiality agreement which requires them to keep any information they access through this competition in strictest confidence.

The judging will be in 2 stages:

Regional – for each region the judges will select their highest scoring Cake Business and choose a winner from those businesses. If no business is of a sufficiently high standard then there will be no winner for that region.

National – the judges will choose the Cake Business of the Year from the regional winners. The winner will be announced at the Awards Celebration Event on March 2nd.
